GreatWe needed a soft Mat to put on top of our tile flooring to encourage our 15 month old daughter to walk more at home without the fear of hurting herself. I first stumbled onto the baby care mats and the gate that was perfectly designed to accommodate their mat size. While I did purchase the gate, a bit of research on the safety of the mat, had me run the other direction. The entire Mat was made of pvc and while they claim it’s a “safer” version of pvc, there is no way I would deliberately purchase that for use of my little one especially since pvc is most dangerous for babies!I did a lot of digging around the safety of mats and truly struggled to find one that was big enough for an early walker/explorer, thick enough to prevent pain and injuries if she fell, made of safe and nontoxic materials, and preferably had a pleasant design as opposed to the vibrant baby designs that are an eye sore.I stumbled onto a blog that was a product of very extensive research and this mat was the only product that seemed to meet my criteria. They had done more extensive testing on these mats which gave me a peace of mind. The Mat is the perfect width for the babycare gates but is about a foot shorter. That part is the only part I wish I could change since my little one is still exposed and I don’t feel as secure as I would have liked to.Otherwise, my little one has fallen a few times without any sign of discomfort. I did put tile foam flooring under this one just to be extra sure though.The Mat has a beautiful neutral pattern and goes well with the decor without being an eyesore. Overall I’m very happy that someone somewhere had similar concerns to mine and came up with a safer solution for our little ones.I always spend time researching before buying anything specially when it comes to baby stuff. After spending a couple months looking for a baby play mat, I finally decided to go with this one and I’m so glad I did. Setting it up was as easy as rolling out a yoga mat. I wiped it down with warm water, let it air dry, and we were in business! As soon as I put our 4 month old down, she started smiling a lot and babbling. I put her on tummy time to see how well she does and to my surprise, she did not fuss like she usually does after a few seconds. As a matter of fact, she did tummy time on this mat for over half an hour. We have hard laminate floors and this mat is so soft, she hasn’t cried from plopping face first onto it. She loves being on it so much that she’s even learned to roll over while on it. I know we bought it for the baby but I lay down with her on it cause it feels really nice and squishy. I end up doing some of my workouts and stretches on it—much better than my yoga mat. Little one threw up on it the first day and I just took her burp cloth, wipes it real quick and it was good as new. I like the fact that there are no crevices that can catch dirt and nasty stuff cause it’s one whole piece. It’s also stylish and goes with our color scheme instead of having a hodgepodge of technicolored alphanumeric puzzle, which I originally considered buying. I really wish I bought this much sooner than I did, but better late than never! Go get one now if you have a baby or if you just want a nice squishy mat.*edit*I should have written this a month ago but - I initially loved the playmat but shortly after receiving it, noticed some little micro tears. After the seller became aware of the issue, they promptly replied and sent me a brand new mat. It turns out that the micro tears were most likely my fault - caused by my cleaning the mat with a vinegar/water mixture that was too acidic. Something they have now updated the listing to warn people to avoid! Anyway, not only is the mat beautiful, but the company is really great and totally took care of me when I had an issue. I would definitely recommend this gorgeous play mat!!Original:This is such a beautiful play mat! I love, love how it looks, and that it is soooo non toxic! The one thing I'm sad about is that I feel like even after only using it for about 2 weeks - and being very very careful with it - no walking on it, and only cleaning it with white vinegar and water! - if I look closely I can see little tiny splits in the foam that are already starting to collect dirt. It's giving me anxiety because it's already starting to look not as pristine (and I was hoping it would stay looking great for a long time, as long as I was careful) - and also I'm concerned about the future waterproofness (not an actual word ?) because of the splits in the top layer. I can see the shiny foam showing through in these spots. I would expect this after maybe a year of use, not a couple weeks. :( Would I buy it again? Unsure....did I just get a lemon? Does this happen to all of them? If that doesn't bother you, I think this mat is amazing.It passed two tests on our first week with it: 1. Sitting up baby fell back. His head was cushioned and not hurt at all. 2. We spilled juice on it and were able to wipe it up with no residue or soaking at all.This floor mat is very soft . I love the perfect color matching with my son’s play room. I crawled all over this mat to test for my son and it is awesome I feel my son anymore he falls he won’t get hurt. Only thing is it is a bit pricey
